Gin
Stirling Gin Distillery
”Our first batch of Stirling Gin was distilled on the 28th of October 2015 and Stirling Distillery opened in Summer 2019. We wanted to bring something unique to the ever growing world of Scottish Gin. In our recipe we feel we have achieved that goal. The result is a spirit with a big nose and very satisfying profile, whether neat or with a premium tonic of your choice. | Our core gin is infused with hand picked Stirlingshire nettles, basil, lemon and orange peel, juniper and angelica root. This forms the base to our other products, all distilled at Stirling Distillery. As a result, our nearly navy strength Battle Strength Gin packs a mighty punch, while the Folklore Collection uses local fruits and herbs to create our range of gin liqueurs. Our entire range is inspired by the mythologies and history surrounding Stirlingshire and its beautiful castle. In 2019 we opened our doors at the foot of Stirling Castle. We are the first gin distillery in the beautiful city of Stirling and are proud to use local ingredients to create our outstanding Scottish spirits”. |

Castle
Stirling Castle
”Stirling Castle, located in Stirling, is one of the largest and most important castles in Scotland, both historically and architecturally. The castle sits atop Castle Hill, an intrusive crag, which forms part of the Stirling Sill geological formation. It is surrounded on three sides by steep cliffs, giving it a strong defensive position. Its strategic location, guarding what was, until the 1890s, the farthest downstream crossing of the River Forth, has made it an important fortification in the region from the earliest times”. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia | One of the Scotland’s most famous or infamous monarchs was Mary Queen of Scots who spent a lot of her life at Stirling Castle. The castle itself has undergone extensive restoration showing the accommodation in which the young Queen would have lived in mid 16th Scotland. Great attention has been paid to the decoration of the palace and much research undertaken to recreate its glorious splendour. |

Pernille’s world: University of Stirling
“The campus is filled with bunnies, squirrels and different birds”.
”So, I moved into campus on Sunday. I have to tell yous before I tell anything else. I love it here. I had been in my room for about 5 minutes before someone knocked on my door and told me there were drinks in the kitchen. There are a lot of names to remember and I’m doing my best to remember everybody …”. Link to the blog: http://pernilles-world.blogspot.com/2011/09/university-of-stirling.html
